After a number of years working as a photojournalist and developing a passion for telling stories through photography, I started J Knight Photography in 1987. I have since had the pleasure of working with a diverse commercial clientele throughout the southeastern US.

I shoot primarily on location, and my body of work runs the gamut - from covering high-profile events like the Guilford College Bryan Series, to documenting art, architecture and industry; from mastering executive portraits to illustrating healthcare services.

My goal is to provide a final product that meets my clients' needs and exceeds their expectations. My greatest joy comes from making people feel at ease during a photo session and developing lasting, rewarding relationships with my clients. 

While my work today is primarily commercial, I still love the adventure of journalism, and have had an excellent platform via the Triad Business Journal for nearly two decades.

I believe great photography captures the essence of the subject, whether it is a personality, a concept or a design. I apply the same standards to photographing a building or a CEO, a sculpture or a world leader.
